Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 – Community Focus.
Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event hosted by the Mental Health Foundation to shine a spotlight on the importance of mental health. For over 20 years, this week has been a powerful platform to inspire action, reduce stigma, and open up conversations across workplaces, schools, communities, and homes throughout the UK.

Why This Week Matters!
1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem each year. Yet, many still face stigma, isolation, or don’t know where to turn for help. This week aims to change that.
In 2025, the focus is on “Community” – recognizing the powerful role our relationships and surroundings play in supporting mental health. From checking in on a friend, to joining a local group, or creating safer, more inclusive spaces—strong communities can provide:
- A sense of belonging
- Shared purpose
- Emotional support during tough times
- A buffer against loneliness and isolation
As we recover from years of global and economic challenges, nurturing our communities has never been more important.
To support awareness and education in the community, the NHS has a helpful video explaining anxiety—how it affects us, what symptoms to look out for, and how to seek support.
Remember you are never alone. You can always reach out to a loved one, friend or your GP. We will always be here to support you.
