PPG Meeting Summary – Guest Speaker: Jean from Cancer Black Care

At our recent Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting, we were pleased to welcome Jean from Cancer Black Care as our guest speaker. Jean provided an insightful and heartfelt overview of the important work Cancer Black Care does in supporting individuals from Black and minority ethnic communities who are affected by cancer.

Her presentation highlighted the unique challenges faced by these communities, including cultural barriers, access to information, and emotional support. Jean shared examples of how Cancer Black Care offers tailored support, advocacy, and education for patients and their families—helping to ensure that no one feels alone during their cancer journey.

The group found Jean’s talk both informative and inspiring, sparking thoughtful discussion around how we, as a PPG, can help improve awareness and inclusivity in healthcare access and services. We are grateful for Jean’s time and contribution and look forward to exploring ways we can collaborate in the future.
