Listening, Learning and Improving Together

Encouraging patients to share their positive experiences helps us celebrate what’s working well and continue improving the care we provide

At our most recent Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting, one of the members made a very insightful observation. Patient’s often only feel motivated to complete the GP survey when they have had a negative experience.

It’s true. When something goes wrong, it can feel more urgent to share feedback. But what sometimes gets missed is just how powerful it is for us as a General Practice, to hear about the positive experience’s too. When patient’s take the time to share what went well, it gives the team encouragement, highlights what’s working, and allows us to build on the services that really make a difference.

As the Digital Marketing and Communications Apprentice here at The Law Medical Group Practice, I see this as more than just part of my role it’s something I genuinely care about. My aim is to make sure that all patients feel comfortable and encouraged to share their opinions, whether they’ve had a brilliant experience or spotted areas where things could be improved.

To support this, I will be running a Patient GP Survey Event at the practice. This will give patients the chance to drop in, ask any question’s or raise any concerns they may have about the GP survey, and receive assistance if they need help filling it in. I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to take part and feels confident in having their voice heard.

I will also be continuing to work closely with the PPG to explore new ways of tackling this challenge. By doing this, I hope to encourage more balanced feedback and ensure that every voice positive or negative helps shape the care we provide.

Your views really do matter to me. Every suggestion, every story, and every perspective helps show where the practice is thriving and where improvements can be made.

By working side by side with patients and the PPG, I aim to continue working with The Law Medical Group Practice to grow and provide the best possible service for our community in Brent.
